Organic Acid Testing (OAT)
A straightforward urine test that is useful for confirming possible imbalances that can contribute to chronic illnesses, neural disorders and allergies.
Organic acids are natural by-products (metabolites) created from the functioning of many enzymatic pathways in the body — including mitochondrial activity.
Through measuring metabolic byproducts, this great all-round test evaluates intestinal yeast and bacteria, vitamin and hormone metabolism, energy cycle function, intestinal wall integrity, nutritional deficiencies and fatty acid metabolism.
The results can then be used to guide appropriate and helpful nutritional and supplemental changes, to improve a number of health conditions.
** This test requires one urine sample to be collected first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking. **

Hormone Level Testing & Urinalysis
The Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH)
A dried urine test that measures sex and adrenal hormones, their metabolites, cortisol and organic acids. It is useful for those who suspect hormonal imbalances, or who simply want to monitor their hormonal health.
The test is appropriate for both men and women. It measures progesterone, oestrogens, androgens, creatinine, cortisol, cortisone, nutritional organic acids and neurotransmitters.
** This test requires four or five dried urine samples to be collected over two days. **
When to use a DUTCH test?
Reproductive hormone imbalances e.g., low libido, PMS, irregular/ painful periods
Your menstrual history and stage (menopause, pregnancy etc.) and if you are taking any hormone-altering medication all affect the results. For this reason a Cycle Mapping specific test can be taken.
This test assesses levels of reproductive hormones over two cycles.
For this test, you must collect 25 dried urine samples throughout the course of two cycles (16 samples collected over a 33 day schedule if there is no cycle).
This test is useful for women with fertility concerns, amenorrhea (no menstruation), oligomenorrhea (irregular cycles), women with ablations, PCOS, PMS, mid-cycle spotting and migraines. It is also useful for women with hormonal symptoms that fluctuate throughout the cycle, and for those with partial hysterectomies.
For premenopausal women, due to constant fluctuating hormone levels, this test may not be as suitable and an alternative may be recommended.
